Remember these?

Gingham from Scotland

I blogged about these ginghams here.   After many years sitting on the shelf, I found a great pattern for my ginghams.

On the blog , Kitchen Table Quilting, Erica started a monthly giant block tutorial. In her tutorials she gives directions for piecing either a 24″ block or a 36″ block. She also shows various setting possibilities.  The 36″ February Giant Block was perfect for what I wanted.

Here is the finished flimsy ……………….

I think for the quilting design, I will try a vertical / horizontal 1″ cross hatch  or should it be diagonal?  Hopefully that will mimic the gingham.  Then, perhaps straight line chevrons around the borders.  Anyone have any other suggestions?

  1. Hi Linda,
I think the straight-line vertical and horizontal quilting lines would mimic the gingham pattern perfectly. Great use of those fabulous fabrics. I can’t wait to see this all finished! ~smile~ Roseanne
