….. Tucked away but not forgotten. Gingham from Scotland.
In 2000 my daughter was doing her Masters degree at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. My fabric stash wasn’t so large at that time, so, for my birthday she sent home these colourful ginghams. I’ve always loved ginghams. For me they represent a period in my childhood that was full of love, warmth and explorations out into the wide open fields.
Over the last 18 years I have taken them out of their box numerous times. I played with them, I rearranged them, I remembered my time in Scotland with the daughter who gifted them to me, but no definite idea of how to use them ever came to my mind.
Then I stumbled upon a pattern that I think is going to be perfect for these ginghams. Patience they say……well it’s true. I still need to search through my stash for some lights to go with them. Maybe a purchase is required……just saying.
