Flying Geese

I would like to give a shout out to the Montreal Modern Quilt Guild for their great article describing  5 ways to make the Flying Geese block.  Fabric requirements for 2 of the methods are also included.

I personally like the NO WASTE method and the ONE SEAM method.

Longarmers probably do not appreciate the ONE SEAM variety because their 3D wings flip over easily when machine quilting.  Ask me how I know!

Again, so many choices…… Regardless of your piecing ability, I believe there is a place for all of these methods.  It just depends on what your block will look like in the end.  Off grid geese or geese in a curved line would definitely need paper piecing.
